Gospel music from Paul & Eula Johnson
Reminiscence, Paul and Eula Johnson | |
Cassette Tape: $10 |
Serving as missionaries of the American Missionary Fellowship we have many opportunities to sing for the Lord, to small rural churches or larger ones. On a most memorable occasion we sang How Great Thou Art in a little church in Sweden that my grandfather organized and built about 100 years ago. We have also included the song we sang to each other at our own wedding, Each for the Other. We trust we have put your favorite song on our album. We wish to dedicate this album to the memory of my parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson, who are at home with Jesus, and to Eula's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fickess, who have given to us such a rich spiritual heritage. We also dedicate it to others who have encouraged us to produce it. May God bless each of you! 'Uncle Pete and Aunt Eula' |

IN MEMORIAL
In 1941 we were married and spent a few years on the farm, but working in Gospel Team work. In 1948 we were called into the American Sunday-School Union work. This record Lights of Home in memory of her is in appreciation of her dedicated service with me these 25 years. She was truly a “helpmeet” and as the Bible says in Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” Rev. Paul O. Johnson |

I WILL SING of the mercies of the Lord forever, Psalms 89:1. This is the sincere desire of Rev. Paul O. Johnson as he sends out this record to the praise and glory of his Lord and Savior. Paul O. Johnson was born of Godly Swedish parents, the 6th child of a family of 8 children. Often his father, who has now gone on to glory, has said, “I am poor in this world's goods, but I can rejoice, knowing all my children are on their way to heaven.” This eminently Christian home into which Paul was born and where he spent his childhood years was near Red Oak, IA. His elementary schooling was received in a little one room country school. He graduated from Red Oak high school. At the early age of twelve, Paul recognized his spiritual need and received Christ as his own personal Savior. He has continually grown in the faith, as his very presence speaks of his love for the Lord. In 1941 he was united in marriage to Mildred E. Wines, who was a talented chalk artist, often illustrating with chalk drawing as Paul sang. They were a real inspiration to their audiences as they worked together. To this union was born four children - two sons and two daughters. On May 4, 1967, “Millie” was called home to be with her Lord leaving a vacancy in the family's life. Trusting in Romans 8:28 and knowing that God makes no mistakes, doing all things well has been a comfort to them, as they go forward as He leads. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord” Psalms 34:23. Paul was commissioned as a Missionary of the American Sunday-School Union in 1948, serving in southwest Iowa for 10 years. He then was transferred to south central Nebraska where he still serves. During these years, his work with Vacation Bible Schools, Bible Conferences, and Pioneers for Christ, he has made a real impact on the lives of many young people in his fields, and endeared himself to many. Paul has always loved to sing, often being called upon to sing for evangelistic meetings, as well as other gatherings. You'll enjoy the duets sung together with himself thru the modern means of electronics. He also sings as he used to as a little boy, this the children will enjoy. He was naturally endowed with a voice of high quality and the ability to sing from his heart to that of the listener. To bring out the depth of the gospel message of the songs, of the inspired writers, calls for a born-again one who has really experienced God's love in his heart. This is evident of Paul as he pours out his soul in song. Your heart will be blessed as you listen to these songs of adoration, praise, devotion, dedication, and spiritual joy. May God Bless each one who listens with an attuned heart. Mrs. Sherman Allen from the cover of The Lights of Home |
